Alex Morgan closed her career as a Golden Bear the same manner in which she began it - as the California women's soccer team's season- leading scorer. Morgan concluded her four years in Berkeley tied for the third all-time scorer in California history with 45 goals and in sole possession of third place in terms of points 107. If Morgan had not been helped the U.S. Senior National team quality for the 2011 World Cup, she would no doubt hold first place in both of those categories.

As a senior, she played in only 12 games for the Bears due to being called up to the U.S. National Team. Despite her limited time with Cal in 2010, she still led the Bears in goals (14) and points (30) and was first in the nation for the majority of the season in goal scoring. Regardless of the goals and points accumulated, Morgan holds her own in terms by her accolades alone. She capped off her career with her first-ever NSCAA All-American honors, collecting first-team placement. A four-time All-Pac-10 selection, the Diamond Bar, Calif., native earned first-team conference laurels in 2010 and 2009 and was a player of the year candidate in both seasons. A two-time member of the watch list for the Hermann Trophy - the most prestigious award in women's soccer - Morgan became the first California player to ever be named one of the top-three finalists. The 5-7 forward was also one of four finalists for the Honda Award, given to the best overall candidate in each sport.

She led her Bears to the NCAA Tournament in each of her four years, advancing to the second round twice. A Pac-10 All-Freshman pick and second-team Soccer Buzz Freshman All-American and second-team Soccer America All-Freshman in 2007, she started 15 of the 17 games she played in as a freshman, pacing Cal with 18 points and eight goals.

Morgan garnered key international experience during the fall of her sophomore season of 2008, scoring the eventual gamewinner to help the U.S. under-20 national team to gold medals at the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup on Dec. 7. The gamewinner was her fourth goal of the tournament and won the Silver Ball as the tournament's second-best player and the Bronze Shoe as the third-leading scorer. While Morgan missed several games that year, she still finished atop the Cal squad in multiple categories - points (23), goals (9), shots (76) and shots on goal (39). In 2009, she had a career season-high 14 goals and eight assists for 36 points, skyrocketing her to the All-Pacific-Region second team.

Equally talented on the pitch as she is in the classroom, she was named to the 2010 CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District team. She graduated in December 2010, a full semester early thanks to her dedication in the offseason and summer, with a degree in political economy. She has been lauded for her studies as a three-time Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention.

I Chose Cal because...I wanted to be a part of the Cal soccer family, and I wanted to go to a school recognized for academics. Oh, and you won't find any city like Berkeley, and I love it!

My favorite thing about the Bay Area is...BART! I take it all the time into the City.

Something on my iPod that might surprise you is...Kings of Leon. I love that band.

The most interesting thing I did this summer was...I went to Madrid for a month to learn Spanish...and I came back fluent! Well...almost fluent.

When I'm upset, I like to...talk to my boyfriend or my parents.

I get mad when I miss these TV shows: "Lost" and "Gossip Girl"

The best moment in sports history was when...I scored in the U-20 World Cup final. The first few seconds after, I really couldn't even believe what just happened. I just stood there, shocked. It's definitely a moment I will always remember.

Cal is better than other schools because...we have tradition! I mean, we were the first public school established in California!

Something I learned from my parents is...that it takes a long time to build trust, but it can be lost in a instant. Gain trust from others and keep it. Thanks Mom and Dad!

If I wasn't a soccer player, I would be...a volleyball player. If not that, a softball player. I'm too competitive not to play a sport!

Do you have any hidden talents? I bake the best funfetti cake, well at least I think I do! I am also sort of a human alarm clock. When I need to wake up at a certain time, I will set my alarm clock, but I always wake up three minutes before my alarm clock goes off!

What is one thing about your hometown that you miss? My friends, my car and my house that I moved into when I was three.

Which words of phrases do you overuse? "Dude," though I don't know why, "are you serious???" And "you crazy"
